Australia Awards alumna Sarah Soysa is a passionate feminist! Serving as an advisor for the FRIDA Feminist Fund and a founding member and coordinator of the Commonwealth Youth and Gender Equality Forum, her work with FRIDA lead to Sarah being featured in the Vogue India Magazine.
FRIDA | The Young Feminist Fund is the only youth-led fund that is dedicated to strengthening the participation and leadership of young feminist activists globally.
The Fund is a collaborative effort between the Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID), The Fondo Centroamericano de Mujeres/Central American Women’s Fund (FCAM) and an experienced group of young feminist activists from different regions of the world.
Sarah commenced her Master’s Degree in Gender and Development Studies at the University of Melbourne in 2014 and has been working and volunteering with national, regional and faith-based organizations upon completing her studies. She also founded the Youth Advocacy Network in Sri Lanka in January 2015.
Kudos to Sarah for paving the way for young feminists in Sri Lanka!
