The Third Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Association of Australia Awards Alumni

The third Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sri Lanka Association of Australia Awards Alumni (SLAAAA) was held on 8 December 2016 at the Grand Oriental Hotel in Colombo. The meeting was attended by members of the Association and other invitees, including Colombo Plan alumni, representatives from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and Australia Awards Sri Lanka.
Following the AGM, a new executive committee comprising 15 members assumed office under the leadership of Dr. Mohammed Ijas.
Guest speaker Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Ceylon, spoke of his Australian education experience when he pursued a PhD in Economics at the Australian National University as a Central Bank funded scholar.
